Welcome
"As your State Representative, I pledge to serve to my best abilities the citizens of the area, by encouraging what makes this district great. This region of the state has been ignored for a long time - Funding Schools, Indiana's strong reliance on Property Taxes, Personal Rights and Safety as well as Economic Development are some of the few points that need to be addressed. It is time to stand up and make our voice heard."

Statehouse Update
Indiana's legislative process is in full swing. My House colleagues and I are working hard to help craft proactive legislation to protect Hoosier taxpayers. As promised I have been working closely with legislators on both sides of the aisle in creating legislation that once again balances the state's budget and provides property tax relief to homeowners.
During the last biennial budget House Republicans were successful in eliminating Indiana's $600 million structural deficit and I hope to continue to bring fiscal integrity to the state. In addition, Indiana's fiscal responsibility resulted in creating a surplus of $370 million in the state and for the first time in three years, Indiana has more money in the bank than it owes in bills.
Due to the state's improved economic outlook, Indiana's credit rating got a boost with Moody's Investors Service reporting an upgrade to a stable AA+ rating from a negative AA ranking. This announcement marked the first time in over five years that Indiana's economy has moved into the positive rating. This could not have been achieved had it not been for Indiana's move to a more diversified economy and increased employment figures.
Indiana's balanced budget held the line on spending, while still helping to put more money toward Hoosier values. The budget increased school spending by $272.6 million and allowed for the hiring of 250 more public school teachers in the state. In addition, lawmakers' fiscal restraint helped Hoosier seniors by increasing Indiana's Medicaid budget by 5% and Indiana youth by providing extra funding for 175 new child caseworkers and 25 new supervisors.
During the past two years, Indiana's economic progress has steamrolled previous years and I will work hard to help continue this trend. Due to these factors, it is not hard to see that with all the progress happening in Indiana, Hoosiers are truly heading in a positive new direction.
